In the fall of 1989, the number of students at Rocky
Mountain State College involved in internships, hit an
unprecedented peak at 90. Then for the next three
years, it fell almost steadily, dropping to 87 in 1990, 76
in 1991, 66 in 1992, and 43 in 1993. There was slight
upsurge in 1994 to 50, then another little drop in 1995
to 42. Then in 1996, the tide seemed to turn, as the
number of interns began to go up, first to 52, then to 60
in 1997. In the four years from 1998 to 2002, the
number of students opting for an internship more than
doubled, as the number grew from 66 to 86 in 1998 and
1999. In 2000, the number of interns stood at 95,
increasing to H 3 in 2001 and 120 in 2002.
