University, Cambridge, MA, and Specialization in Regulation of Financial and Capital Markets, FGV–Law/SP. Mr.
Almeida Freitas concluded the Seminar on Financing of Projects in the Private Sector, organized by the Inter-American
Development Bank – IDB, Washington, D.C., USA, and attended Urban Infrastructure and Projects Management, FIA
USP - Universidade de Sao Paulo.
Career:
Attorney in Sao Paulo, and licensed at the District of Columbia Bar (D.C. Bar) as Special Legal Consultant, Brazilian
Law, Washington, D.C., with more than 20 years of legal practice, and extensive experience in the public and private
sectors in Brazil and abroad. As Legal Advisor and expert in International Governement Contracts and Public Bids, Mr.
Almeida Freitas served in the Organization of American States (OAS), headquartered in Washington, D.C., particularly
in the subject of voting system’s development in Haiti. In Brazil, Mr. Almeida Freitas acted in preventive and litigation
cases in prestigious law firms and legal departments of companies, as well as in the municipality of Sao Paulo. Mr.
Almeida Freitas began his career at the Sao Paulo based Law Firm Cupaiolo e Lencioni Sociedade de Advogados, and
worked later at Abreu Sampaio Sociedade de Advogados. At the Public Administration, was Superintendent in the
Urban Projects Regularization Sector of the Sao Paulo Company of Housing and Urban Development (CDHU/SP);
Contracts and Procurement Coordinator of the Municipal Transportation Secretariat of Sao Paulo (SMT/SP); Head of
the Legal Department of the Sao Paulo Traffic Engineering Company (CET/SP). Also, he Co-founded and is a Board
Member of the Brazilian Chapter of the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT-Brasil). He was Partner at Alexandre de
Moraes Sociedade de Advogados. Mr. Almeida Freitas is Partner at ALMEIDA FREITAS SOCIEDADE DE
ADVOGADOS and works in the areas of Corporate and Financial Law, Estate Planning and Tax, Corporate

J.D. – Law School PUC/SP, and Specialization in Civil Litigation from the same University. Mrs. Mello has
a Specialization degree in Real Estate Law from Faculdades Metropolitanas Unidas – FMU/SP. She attended various
seminars and lectures in the areas of: Real Estate Law, Financial Law, Business Law, Consumer Law, Family Law,
Constitutional Law, Environmental Law, and Administrative Law, among others.
Career:
Attorney in Sao Paulo, with more than 20 years of legal practice, with extensive experience in Public Law and Private
Law, having served in the following areas: Civil Litigation, Advisory Services with the Public Administration (Contracts
and Public Bids), emphasizing that Mrs. Mello legal practice in the Procurement division has included the preparation
of Terms of Reference – RFP, Bid Proposals, and drafting of Bills, as well as acting as Legal Advisor before the organs
of control and supervision of Public Bodies. Mrs. Mello is licensed as Market Floor Officer. During her career, she has
served in renowned Law Firms in Sao Paulo, and worked as an In-House Attorney for the Sao Paulo State Bank –
Banco do Estado de Sao Paulo (current Banco Santander); Legal Advisor to the Municipal Transportation Secretariat –
SMT/SP, providing legal support to various agencies connected with it, such as the Traffic Engineering Company of
Sao Paulo – CET/SP, the Department of Road System Operations – DSV/SP, and the Department of Public
Transportation – DTP/SP. Mrs. Mello also worked as voluntary advocate for the Sao Paulo Institute Against Violence,
and has experience in Real Estate transactions, with emphasis on relevant legislation of Condos, Incorporations and
Public Records. Mrs. Mello is Partner at ALMEIDA FREITAS SOCIEDADE DE ADVOGADOS and works in the areas

Banking Law, Boston University School of Law, Boston, MA; Specialization in International Corporate Governance from
Harvard University, Cambridge, MA; and Specialization in Regulation of Financial and Capital Markets from FGV–
Law/SP.
Career:
Attorney in Sao Paulo, and Special Legal Consultant, Brazilian Law, District of Columbia Bar (D.C. Bar) Washington,
D.C., with more than 16 years of experience in international and comparative legal matters, in Brazil and abroad. In
her professional career Mrs. Alem Freitas served as an Attorney in Brazil at Cupaiolo e Lencioni Advogados and in
international renowned Law Firms such as Leite, Tosto e Barros Sociedade de Advogados. Also, worked as a Law
Graduate Professor in International Law, at Faculdades FTS (currently Faculdades Anhanguera). In the USA, as
International Consultant - Trainee Specialist in the Trade Law Division, she worked at the Department of Foreign
Affairs, Embassy of Brazil, Washington, D.C.; also served as International Consultant at the Organization of American
States in matters of business relations and comparative legislation, including issues arising from commercial
agreements, business formations and setting up of NGOs in Brazil. Mrs. Alem Freitas worked as Special Legal
Consultant at the US Law Library of Congress (LOC), at the International and Comparative Law Divisions, specializing
herself in Luso-Brazilian legislation, where she provided legal advice to Congressmen on various issues of comparative
law and legislation conductive to all Portuguese-speaking countries, being responsible for drafting, reviewing, and
submitting reports and legal opinions upon its Legal Directorate´s request. Back in Brazil, Mrs. Alem Freitas founded
in the year of 2010 the Institute ILRFE – International Legal Resources for Entrepreneurs, headquartered in Sao
Paulo. Mrs. Alem Freitas is Partner at ALMEIDA FREITAS SOCIEDADE DE ADVOGADOS and works in the areas of
