Enter the Wu-Tang (36
Chambers)
Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) is the
debut album of American hip hop group
Wu-Tang Clan, released November 9,
1993, on Loud Records and distributed
through RCA Records. Recording sessions
for the album took place during 1992 to
1993 at Firehouse Studio in New York City,
and it was mastered at The Hit Factory.
The album's title originates from the
martial arts film The 36th Chamber of
Shaolin (1978). The group's de facto
leader RZA, also known as Prince Rakeem,
produced the album entirely, utilizing
heavy, eerie beats and a sound largely
based on martial-arts movie clips and soul
music samples.
Wu-Tang Forever
Wu-Tang Forever is the second studio
album of American hip-hop group WuTang Clan, released June 3, 1997 on
Loud/RCA Records in the United States.
Pressed as a double album, it was
released after a long run of successful
solo projects from various members of
the group, and serves as the follow-up to
their debut album Enter the Wu-Tang (36
Chambers). Forever features several guest
appearances from Wu-Tang affiliates
Cappadonna, Streetlife, 4th Disciple, True
Master, and Tekitha, as well as an
extensive embodiment of lesser known
members of the group.
The W
The W is the third studio album by the
American hip hop group Wu-Tang Clan,
released November 21, 2000 on
Loud/Columbia Records. It was released
several years after their previous album
Wu-Tang Forever, to which many group
members released solo projects between
the two albums. The W contains a more
rugged, less polished sound than that of
most Wu-Tang related albums of this era,
and features guest appearances from
Isaac Hayes, Redman, Nas, Busta Rhymes,
Snoop Dogg, and Junior Reid.
Iron Flag
Iron Flag is the fourth studio album by
American East Coast hip hop collective
Wu-Tang Clan, released on December 18,
2001 on Loud Records. It was certified
gold in sales by the RIAA. Iron Flag served
as the group's second lowest-selling
album (687,000 copies), as their record
label, Loud, was on the verge of shutting
down at the time. The album debuted at
No. 32 on the Billboard 200 with 153,000
copies sold in its first week of release.
8 Diagrams
8 Diagrams is the fifth studio album by
American hip hop group Wu-Tang Clan,
released December 11, 2007 on
SRC/Universal Motown Records. The
album was released three years after the
death of Ol' Dirty Bastard, and six years
after the group's previous LP Iron Flag, for
which many group members further
embarked on solo recording, and acting
careers between the two albums.
Legendary Weapons
Legendary Weapons is a compilation
album by American hip hop group WuTang Clan, which was released July 26,
2011 on E1 Music Legendary Weapons
features performances by several WuTang members (GZA and Masta Killa are
absent), and affiliates Trife Diesel, Killa Sin
and Bronze Nazareth. Other guests
include Sean Price, M.O.P., AZ, Action
Bronson & Roc Marciano among others.
Robert Fitzgerald Diggs (born July 5, 1969), better
known by his stage name RZA), is an American
Grammy-winning music producer, multiinstrumentalist, author, emcee, and occasional
actor, director, and screenwriter. A prominent
figure in hip hop, RZA is the de facto leader of the
Wu-Tang Clan. He has produced almost all of WuTang Clan's albums as well as many Wu-Tang solo
and affiliate projects. He has also released solo
albums under the alter-ego Bobby Digital, along
with executive producing credits for side projects.
In addition to the Wu-Tang Clan and his solo
releases, RZA was also a founding member of the
horrorcore Hip Hop group Gravediggaz where he
used the name The Rzarector. Furthermore, he
has acted in several movies.
Gary Grice (born August 22, 1966), better known
by his stage names GZA and The Genius, is an
American hip hop artist and founding member of
the seminal hip hop group the Wu-Tang Clan.
Within the clan, he is known as the "spiritual
head," being both the oldest and the first within
the group to receive a record deal. GZA has
appeared on his fellow clan members' solo
projects and since the release of his critically
acclaimed solo album, Liquid Swords (1995), he
has maintained a successful solo career. Steve
Huey of Allmusic has called him "one of the best
lyricists of the 1990s,“ while the editors of
About.com ranked him #17 on their list of the Top
50 MCs of Our Time (1987–2007), making him the
highest-ranking Wu-Tang Clan member on the list.
Clifford Smith (born April 1, 1971), better known
by his stage name Method Man, is an American
Grammy Award winning hip hop artist, record
producer, actor and member of the hip hop
collective Wu-Tang Clan. He took his stage name
from the 1979 film The Fearless Young Boxer, also
known as Method Man. He is one half of the rap
duo Method Man & Redman. He won a Grammy
Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or
Group for "I'll Be There for You/You're All I Need to
Get By" with Mary J. Blige. In 2007, the writers of
About.com placed him on their list of the Top 50
MCs of Our Time (1987–2007). In 2012, The
Source placed him on their list of the Top 50
Lyricists of All Time. He is also the only MC to be
featured on Notorious B.I.G.'s debut album Ready
to Die.
Corey Woods (born January 12, 1970), better
known by the stage name Raekwon, is an
American rapper and a member of the Wu-Tang
Clan. He released his solo debut, Only Built 4
Cuban Linx... in 1995, and has since recorded
numerous solo albums, as well as continuing to
work with Wu-Tang and providing an extensive
number of guest contributions to other hip hop
artist's works. Raekwon is often cited as one of the
pioneers of the Mafioso rap sub-genre. In 2007,
The editors of About.com placed him on their list
of the Top 50 MCs of Our Time (1987–2007). The
Miami New Times described Raekwon's music as
being "street epics" that are "straightforward yet
linguistically rich universes not unlike a gangsta

Dennis Coles (born May 9, 1970), better known by
his stage name Ghostface Killah, is an American
rapper and prominent member of the Wu-Tang
Clan. After the group achieved breakthrough
success in the aftermath of Enter the Wu-Tang (36
Chambers), the members went on to pursue solo
careers to varying levels of success. Ghostface
Killah debuted his solo-career with Ironman in
1996, which was well received by music critics. He
has continued his success over the following years
with critically acclaimed albums such as Supreme
Clientele (2000) and FishScale (2006). His stage
name was taken from one of the characters in the
1979 kung fu film Mystery of Chessboxing.
Jason Hunter, (born July 6, 1970) better
known by his stage name Inspectah Deck, is
an American rapper, producer, and member
of the Wu-Tang Clan. Although he has not
gained the same level of mainstream
success in his solo career as some of his WuTang counterparts like Method Man, he has
acquired critical praise for his intricate
lyricism, and for his verses on many of the
group's most revered songs. He has grown
to become a producer in his own right,
taking up tracks for fellow clansmen and his
own projects.
Lamont Jody Hawkins (born
November 11, 1970), better known
as U-God (short for Universal God),
is an American rapper and member
of the hip hop collective, Wu-Tang
Clan. He has been with the group
since its inception, and is known
for having a deep, rhythmic flow
that can alternate between being
gruff or smooth. He is the group's
lowest-pitched member.
Jamel Arief (born Elgin Turner; August
18, 1969), better known as Masta Killa,
is an American rapper and member of
the Wu-Tang Clan. Though one of the
lesser-known members of the group
(he was featured on only one track on
their 1993 debut album Enter the WuTang (36 Chambers)), he has been
prolific on Clan group albums and solo
projects since the mid-1990s, and
released his debut album No Said Date
in 2004 to positive reviews.

Russell Tyrone Jones (November 15, 1968 –
November 13, 2004) was an American
rapper and occasional producer, who went
by the stage name Ol' Dirty Bastard, ODB,
Ason Unique, Osirus, Rainman, and Big Baby
Jesus. He was one of the founding members
of the Wu-Tang Clan, a rap group primarily
from Staten Island, New York that first rose
to mainstream prominence with their 1993
debut album Enter the Wu-Tang (36
Chambers). He died in late 2004 of a drug
overdose, two days before his 36th birthday.
