Needs Assessment
The healthcare industry has been growing at a very
fast pace and the growth has increased one hundred
percent in the last twenty years. Hospitals, home
health agencies, doctors’ offices, and healthcare
facilities that provide medical care are given the
opportunity to be in almost all medical networks that
bring in high income gains.
Needs Assessment
A software program that has been developed to keep
up with high documentation and transaction
demands is AthenaNet. This program is used by
many healthcare agencies to provide services to their
patients from registration to depositing payments
directly to the agencies’ bank accounts.
Needs Assessment
Every healthcare facility wants to have success not
only with the medical care that is provided but also
allowing employees to use a program that is easy to
use and ninety-nine percent accurate. Your average
employee only needs basic computer skills to use
AthenaNet and even though tutorials can be long,
they are very self- explanatory. Employees will
receive a certificate of completion when all the
tutorials have been done.
Instructional Goal
Every employee will be able to use AthenaNet with a
maximum accuracy of ninety-nine percent. They will
be able to register, collect payments, make
appointments, document patient care, checkout
patients, and close the register at the end of each
transaction day.

Learner characteristics
Every employee in a medical facility – Regardless of every
employees’ position within the practice like registration clerks,
nurses, office managers, doctors, nurse practitioners, office
supervisor or anyone associated with the medical facility. They
will be given a deadline to finish all tutorials within reasonable
time.
No exception of person – Everyone in the medical
practice will be required to take this training
regardless of their race, age, or educational level. This
training is simple to complete, therefore every
employee should finish within their designated time.
Learner characteristics
Computer skills – Whether the employee has
computer experience or not, AthenaNet has
been set up for everyone. The only skills
recommended are basic computer skills
which will be implemented at the time of
performance.
Learning Context
The instructional setting for this training can be
anywhere the employee has access to a computer. The
only requirement is that each employee have access
to the internet in order to connect to AthenaNet. It is
highly recommended that ear phones be used to hear
clearly every tutorial and for privacy. The setting of
instruction needs to be quiet and comfortable for
utmost success.
Instructional Strategies

Introduction:
A
A. Employees will be asked: “Did you
know that this training is a prerequisite
before starting to use AthenaNet?
BB The overall goal of the training will
be to finish all the tutorials of AthenaNet
and make sure every employee
understands every step of the program.
Instructional Strategies

Introduction:
Cc. The overall objective will be to give
detailed information for every step from the
time the patient walks into the medical
facility and to the point of discharge.
DD The training module will cover
registration, scheduling, collections,
documentation, TOS reconciliations, and
checkout.
Instructional Strategies

Presentation of Information:
A.
AthenaNet is a training module that will help
employees meet the demands of the schedule of the
practice, practice tasks to sharpen their demonstration at
using AthenaNet, their progress can be measured by the
completion of tutorials, and one good practice is the
opportunity to go back and refresh each task.
B.
The order of the training module will be
registration, scheduling, payments, documentation, TOS
reconciliation, and checkout.
Instructional Strategies

Presentation of Information:
C . The employee will have access at any time
of the day and as many times possible to review
every tutorial for self-assurance. Every tutorial
completed needs to have a grade point average of
90 or above to continue to next tutorial.
D . By the end of the training modules, the
employees will be able to complete every task with a
passing score and have full knowledge of AthenaNet.
Assessment
Every employee will be assessed at the
completion of the training by submitting
their username and password to the office
supervisor with their final grades. This will
determine what employees have completed
their tutorials with great satisfaction.
Instructional Resources
The technological tool necessary for this training is
a computer. Every employee needs to have access to
a computer with internet access. Ear phones are
highly recommended for privacy and good hearing.
A notebook and pen are good supplies for note
taking.

Formative evaluation
Two strategies will be implemented to evaluate
the training module:
A. The first strategy will be to have access to
AthenaNet main headquarters during working
hours and have a key person to answer and take
care of all situations that may arise.
B. The second strategy will be to see final
cumulative averages and have employees with
highest averages help those that received lower
scores to have a successful AthenaNet
implementation tutorial.
summary
The termination of this training will allow
employees to implement their knowledge in successfully
giving good customer service to all their patients and
will allow the practice to have solvency in their finances
in a timely manner. Every employee will be able to go
through all the steps of AthenaNet with no difficulty and
save time and money. It is my assurance that all medical
facilities implementing AthenaNet training will be very
prosperous!!!!
