• Allow integration of Web FOCUS Business
Intelligence and your businesses
Intranet/Internet Portals (Websites).
• Incorporate comprehensive reporting and
analysis capabilities with your existing
team collaboration sites.
• Have Web FOCUS Reports on the same
site as your relevant business data,
documents, schedules and action items.

Applications.
– Once deployed you can add them as “onscreen” components to your Portal.

– Allows users to view their assigned Domains.
– Launch Reports or Report Assist, Graph
Assist and even Power Painter!

– Can be setup to display a specified Report every time
a user accesses that page.
• Deferred Status Component
– Active button that when clicked will show users the
status of any report submitted for deferred execution.
• Quick Links Component
– Quick access to Business Intelligence Dashboard
(BID). If ReportCaster is installed, links to the Library
and Caster will be displayed as well.

Schedules among other things.

Install WOAS_Cab.CAB
• This file is not part of the Web FOCUS
installation. I got it from our IBI Support
guys.
• When you obtain it, copy the file in a folder
on your SharePoint Server
• Copy SharePoint Command Line tool
STSADM.exe from the “12 Hive” to the
same folder you put the “cab” file.

following to install it. (From the directory
you copied your files)
• Stsadm –o addwppack –filename

• Web Part Files are part of the Web
FOCUS installation.
• Default Location:
• D:\ibi\WebFOCUS76\worp\components\we

• By default this files have “localhost” as the
server name.
• Open each .dwp file and input your server
name.
• You can open this files with “notepad”

Bonus Tip!
• By Default Web Parts run with the credentials
the user uses to login to SharePoint.

– You may change “_LogonUser_” for the user id you
wish to use. For example:

• Go to your SharePoint Top Level Site and
add the Web FOCUS web parts to the
Web Part Gallery.
• Site Actions  Site Settings  Under
“Galleries” click on “Web Parts”.

• After uploading you will see a form where
you can change some properties of the
uploaded Web Part.
• Recommendation: Create a group to put
your Web FOCUS Web Parts.

• Repeat upload steps for each web part
you wish to make available in your site.
• Your Web FOCUS web parts will now be
in the Web Part Gallery.

• Your SharePoint site is now ready to
display Web FOCUS content.
• To add Web Parts to a page:
• Site Actions  Edit Page
• Then Click on the page Region you want
to put your Web Part
• The Add Web Parts window will pop-up.
• Scroll down to the “Web FOCUS” section
and select the Web Part.

– Browse reporting objects and reports
– Launch Report Assistant, Graph Assistant or

• Browse for the Report
• Click on it
• Select “Run” from the pop up menu.

Report Web Part
• The Domain list Web Part is very practical to create new
reports or graphs and to edit existing reports.
• But, what if you want to embed a report or graph to your
page?
• This is very useful if you want to have your most
important report always present right next to where your
team’s documents, calendar and schedules are.
• Very useful if used to track a performance indicator that
varies during the day
• On sites where customer can go to View business
information only.

• To add a Report Web Part:
• Site Actions  Edit Page
• Then Click on the page Region you want
to put your Web Part
• The Add Web Parts windows will pop-up.
• Scroll down to the “Web FOCUS” section
and select the Web FOCUS Report Web
Part.

Report List Option
• If you select “List” you can choose multiple
reports that will display as items and can
be executed from there.

Launch Option
• Every time someone opens your web site
the report will launch automatically with no
user interaction.
• If the page is “Reloaded” the report/graph
will display the most up-to-date
information.
• Above the Report there is a “Refresh” link
that will update the report as well.
