September 18 th , 2014 Dear Parents, Al Salam Alaykom.

We would like to introduce you to our Extra-Curricular Activities for this year. Below you will find a list of the activities designated for your child’s stage. Please read them carefully and fill in the attached table according to your preferences.

Extra Activities take place every Wednesday for KG1 and every Monday for KG2.

Due to the limited places in every activity, students will be chosen on a first come, first serve basis. We will choose 3 activities for every child for our 3 rounds of activities. Your prompt response is highly appreciated.

KG2 1-The Young Scientist

: Over the six weeks students will find out and experiment with different scientific topics such as life cycles, materials and their characteristics, magnets, volcanoes, our planet and how to recycle and reuse materials.

2- The Young Vet

: In this club, students will learn about different pets and how to look after them. If your child has pet allergies, please refrain from choosing this club. The animals we’ll be learning about are: birds, turtles, fish, chicks, cats and guinea pigs.

3-The Young Archeologist

: Students in this club will learn about fossils, dinosaurs, excavations, the archeologist’s tools, pottery shards, mummies, and building pyramids.

4-The Young Explorer

: Students will go around the world to learn about different continents and different people, animals, and costumes in some countries from around the world. They will end their journey each time with a craft from a different country.

5-The Young Journalist

: Over the 6 weeks students will enjoy going around the school looking for news, designing a newspaper, taking photos, editing articles, publishing their work and taking pride in their KG2 newspaper.

6-The Stories of Animals in the Quran

: (This club will be taught by Arabic teachers) Each week students will learn about a new animal story from the holy Quran and enjoy doing a craft related to the topic.

7- Inventors and their Inventions

: (This club will be taught by Arabic teachers) Each week students will learn about a new inventor , his life and his inventions. Then they will do a 2D/ 3D craft of the invention.

8-The Extra Support Club

:

Teachers

will recommend this club for students who need extra support. This club will be using activities and games to practice different concepts introduced in class.
