Assignments
Handouts will be made available at the
Intermediate Campus. Have your child check
with their teacher. They will also be available in
the Mrs. Edge’s office.
In the summer they will be at the Junior High
front office.
Intensive Courses
*are designed to provide very rigorous
learning opportunities for students who are
seeking more difficult challenges in subject
areas of particular interests or ability.
*It is the primary responsibility of the parent
to request removal of their child from an
intensive course, however, failing at any
reporting grade period may result in
removal.

Intensive Courses
If the student has been serviced and is
identified through the GT program,
they must sign up for Intensive ELA
and then any other Intensive Course
they wish to be serviced in.

Athletics
Students who are eligible to earn their P.E. credit
through Boys Athletics, Girls Athletics or Tennis
will be approved by the Intermediate and Junior
High coaches.
Student’s grades, discipline, conduct and skill
are reviewed for approvals.
Students who are not scheduled in the class may
still participate in the sport after school.
After completing a six week probationary
period, coaches will review grades and conduct
in order to approve the student into the athletic
period.
Athletics
Boys Athletics-Boys will sign up only if they will
be playing football. Boys who only wish to do
basketball or track will be in P.E. and moved into
athletics following tryouts for these sports
Girls Athletics-Girls may sign up if they wish to
tryout for volleyball, basketball or track. Girls
coaches will be at the Intermediate to conduct
skills tests.
Tennis-Students will meet tryout criteria before
the end of 6th grade to be placed in the Tennis
class.
Athletics
Students in Athletics must have a physical on file in
order for them to begin to participate in practices.
Students who are in the athletic period are required
to remain in the class the entire year.
In order to participate in a sport, students must be
eligible “passing.”
Students may be removed from athletics at coach’s
discretion.
(Cross Country is sport that is done through the
athletic period, practice after school with High
School Cross Country Coach.)
Schedule Changes
The development of the Junior High master schedule
and available course offerings is based on the
requests from our Pre-registration forms submitted
in March.
Classes must be properly balanced.
Availability of electives and Intensive Courses must
remain allowable for new students who enroll in the
district.
Students must remain with the elective they chose in
February/March.
All requests for Intensive classes must be submitted
by the last day of school.
Schedules
Pre-registration will be on Thursday
February 28, 2013 at the Intermediate.
Forms will be due on Thursday March
7, 2013 to their P.E. teachers. Please
make sure to read the Course
Description guide with your child.
Schedules are picked up on Friday
August 23, 2013 from 4:30-6:00 P.M.
Additional Information
•Cells
phones and electronic devices will be
confiscated if they are found to be out or on.
Parents will be the only ones allowed to retrieve
the phone from the office along with a $15.00
fine. (Fees collected are used to purchase
achievement awards for students)
