Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
REQUIRED BY THE FEDERAL AND STATE GOVERNMENT, but varies by institution Different than the Academic Standing Policy IF A STUDENT FAILS TO MEET SAP, the student will be placed on financial aid suspension and will not be eligible for financial aid.
A student can appeal to the Professional Judgment committee for reinstatement of aid. Appeals are reviewed and approved or denied on a case by case basis.
If a student’s appeal is approved, they could be placed on probation and monitored every quarter for a determined amount of time.

(Academic Standing Policy)
Return of Funds
REQUIRED BY THE FEDERAL AND STATE GOVERNMENT
The law assumes that students earn financial aid awards in direct proportion to the number of days the student attends.
If the student withdraws OR stops attending DURING the quarter, Evergreen MUST re-calculate the student’s eligibility based on how many days they attended.
This could cause the student to lose eligibility for funds they have already received and it could result in the student owing the College, the Federal Department of Education and/or the State of Washington.
Return of Funds Policy can be found on the Evergreen Financial Aid website
