In order to meet graduation requirements every student
must pass 4 of 7 EOI Tests.
All students Must Pass:
English 2 and Algebra 1
Any 2 of the following:
Biology, Geometry, US History, English 3 or Algebra 2
Attendance on Test Days is Very Important!
 Valedictorian:
 All students with a GPA of 4.00,weighted
or unweighted and above, with no grade
lower than a B, will be valedictorians and
have a class rank of number 1.
 Salutatorian:
 All students with a 3.970 through 3.999,
with no grade no lower than a B, will be
salutatorians.
Transcripts
 Transcript request take 24 hours.
 Complete transcript request form in counseling office.
 Student/Parent may pick up in office or may have transcript
sent electronically to college (in state only).
 7 semester Transcripts- Indicate official/ final class rank,
valedictorian and salutatorian determined.
 Colleges will use 6 or 7 semester transcripts and ACT score to
determine admission.
 Only the final transcript will be mailed to school of students
choice. Seniors will complete senior exit survey and indicate on
this form where to send final transcript in June.

United States.

Fee Waivers
 Fee waivers for the ACT or SAT are available for
eligible students.
 Colleges will also waive application fees for eligible
students.

information.
Financial Aid
 FAFSA is the KEY! The Free Application for Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA) is the key that opens the door to financial aid. It serves as
the application for most of the financial aid from federal and state
programs and from colleges and universities. Even if you are not sure
that you will need financial aid, we recommend that you fill out a
FAFSA anyway -- it's free.
 You should submit the FAFSA as soon after January 1 as possible,
making sure you meet any college or state deadlines. The quickest
and most accurate way to file the FAFSA is online. In contrast to a
paper copy, the online form displays only the data entry fields you
need to complete. You also receive directions as you need them. The
FAFSA site is also available in Spanish.
 To complete the FAFSA you are required to provide your signature
and that of at least one parent if you are a dependent student. You
can either print a signature page that can be mailed to the processing
center, or you can sign the FAFSA electronically using your Federal
Student Aid PIN. Your parent will need his/her own PIN to sign your
FAFSA. Your PIN stays the same so you and your parent do not need
to apply for new PINs each year. To apply for a PIN or to request a
duplicate, go to www.pin.ed.gov. Remember, your FAFSA will not be
processed without the required signature.
Financial Aid
 If you prefer to fill out a paper copy of the FAFSA, you can obtain
one by calling the Federal Student Aid Information Center at
 1-800-4-FED-AID.
 The FAFSA may not be the only form required to receive an
award letter from a school. You must also complete the college
admissions process. Check with each of the colleges and
universities you listed on your FAFSA to determine their
requirements.
 If you filed your FAFSA electronically, you will receive an
electronic Student Aid Report (SAR) within a few days of
submitting your completed FAFSA. (SAR results may take three
weeks if you filed a paper FAFSA.) The SAR is the result of your
FAFSA. Read it immediately and follow any directions. The
schools you list on the FAFSA will also receive results.

requirements is sent by the counselor in June.

NCAA Clearinghouse
Any student that is going to participate in a
college athletic program under the guidance of
the National Collegiate Athletic Association
(NCAA) is responsible to register with NCAA
(www.ncaa.org) and complete all high school
coursework needed to satisfy the NCAA’s
requirements. All questions should be directed
to the head coach of the related sport and/or
the site athletic director.
Concurrent Enrollment
 Concurrent enrollment allows students to take college classes
during the school day and earn college and high school credit.

 Tuition is waived by the community college, students are
responsible for purchasing textbook and fees (unless waived).
 Students may only be enrolled in 6 classes high school and
college combined.
 MHS students must be enrolled in a minimum of 3 high school
classes.
 Students are given 1 hour off for travel and 1 hour off for the
class itself.
Concurrent Enrollment
 Students must provide counselor “proof of enrollment”.
 Students must notify counselor if they add or drop a course.
 If a student fails course or fails to earn credit in a concurrent
course a student may not meet graduation requirements.
When in doubt please contact counselor and confirm credit
status for graduation.
 Dual Credit: English Comp I and Comp II may be used for
Senior English, American Government and College Algebra.
All other courses may meet elective credit requirements for
high school graduation.
 To qualify for concurrent a student must have a 19 composite
ACT score and 19 in the required sub- area.

Common Application
 Online college application system, allows students to
apply to multiple colleges.
 Counselor will receive email request from student.
 Please allow one to two week time frame for counselor
to submit info.
 Important for student to discuss with counselor
recommendation. Student may be asked to supply
“resume” listing high school awards, honors and
achievements.
 Seniors should always be mindful of deadlines and allow
time for counselor and teachers to complete
recommendations.
