Clarification of Terminology
Design ideas are candidate-generated responses to a design brief and
process.
Working drawings are a set of interconnected, measured 2D drawings,
which may include the following:
Components, Assembly, sectional view / auxiliary view / true shape /
surface development , structure, layouts, construction details.
Drawing conventions are the range of conventions (line types, projection
methods, dimensions, scale etc) that are associated with the formal working
drawings. Drawing conventions need to be appropriate to the drawing type
and correctly applied. Drawing skills also draws on relevant standards and
codes of practice.
Drawing skills are the range of skills associated with line work, drawing
layout, accuracy of drawn information, and presentation.
Instrumental working drawings may include computer-generated drawings
that are produced using standards and conventions.
