Based Science Teaching
Bringing together experts in the fields of science education research and teachers’ communities,
scientists and researchers, policy makers and curriculum developers in Europe and beyond.
Objectives and Approach
Consortium
• BMUKK: Austrian Ministry of Education, Wien
Setting up the pathway towards a standardbased approach for teaching science through
inquiry by:
1) Providing instructional models for helping
teachers to organise their instruction
effectively. Demonstrating and disseminating
effective methods to introduce Inquiry Based
Science Education (IBSE) in classrooms and
professional development programmes
2) Developing motivational methods for
teachers to adopt inquiry based techniques
and activities in their classrooms; reducing
current constrains
