A detailed scheme, program, or method worked out beforehand for the
accomplishment of an object

What is a Disaster?
Disaster:
- A sudden, calamitous event causing great damage,
destruction, or loss
Emergency:
- When something is needed that is not or will not be
available in the requested, expected, or scheduled time frame
- An unforeseen combination of circumstances or the
resulting state that calls for immediate action

What is a Disaster / Recovery Plan?
Disaster:
- Anything which creates an inability to provide vital
business information for some pre-determined period of time.
Disaster Recovery:
- Restoration of vial business functions after a disaster.
Disaster Recovery Planning:
- The purpose of disaster recovery planning is to take steps
in advance to ensure the continuity of critical business information
in the event of a disaster. Disaster recovery planning should be
done for all operating and support functions of an organization.
