We call (称) the Chinese New Year the Spring
Festival. There are different names for each year. We
may call it the year of sheep, the year of dog or the
year of monkey … and this year is the year of tiger.
Before Spring Festival, people are busy shopping
and cleaning their houses. On the Eve, there is a big
family dinner. After dinner, all the family stay up late to
welcome the new year. On the first day of the New Year,
people wear their new clothes and go to visit their
friends and relatives. They say “Gook luck” and some
other greetings (问候) to each other. People usually
have a lot of fun at Spring Festival.
