and Technology, Pakistan
Through the Belt and Road Initiative, China aims
at reviving the ancient trade “Silk route” that
spanned Asia, Africa and Europe. The ChinaPakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) consists of
proposed 3,000-km network of roads, railways
and pipelines.
The seminar presents an analysis of CPEC from
Pakistan’s perspective, considering both macroeconomics and logistic aspects, with discussion
on three modes of transport: road, rail and inland
water transport. In particular, the prospects and
challenges faced in this initiative will be
addressed from a supply chain perspective.
